With an adult
Say bed, pen and hen with an adult. Listen for short e in the MIDDLE; the middle e is marked in each word.
Start in the middle. Go across to the right, then curve up, around to the left and down, leaving an opening on the right.
Whole-word copying is optional. Model one movement and stop whenever a break would help.
